FAQs

What should I expect to see at Puppet Up?

1

Our host and team of world-class puppeteer comedians from The Jim Henson Company bring over 80 puppets to life, improvising a variety of scenes based on suggestions from the audience.  You’ll experience TWO-SHOWS-IN-ONE:  Improvised puppet action projected live on screens above the stage and the puppeteers racing around below in full view of the audience with the puppets up above their heads, hence the title, Puppet Up!  The show also features recreations of classic pieces originally created by Jim and Jane Henson, and Frank Oz for 1950’s and 60’s television shows like The Ed Sullivan Show and The Steve Allen Show that haven’t been seen by live audiences in decades.

Is there an age restriction?

2

Yes. Children under 16 years of age are not admitted.  Because the show is improvised comedy, meaning there is no script, and the puppeteer performers are creating in the moment with suggestions from the audience, the subject matter may venture into adult themes or subject matter.  Parental discretion is advised.

What’s the run time of the show?

3

Approximately 90 – 110 minutes, including one intermission midway through.

Will merchandise be available?

4

Yes.  We have merchandise available in person, including our most popular item, the hotdog puppet.

Is the show the same in each location?

5

While certain elements are consistent, because the show is improvised comedy, it is actually NEVER THE SAME SHOW twice.  Every show is different because the audience changes and the topics vary.  This is one reason many of our fans have seen the show multiple times.

Is participation required?

6

No. You may participate as much or as little as you like.  Most of participation involves shouting answers to the host’s questions from your seat.

Is there an intermission?

Yes. The show is approximately 90 - 110 minutes in length, including one intermission midway through.

How do I request accessible seating?

What topics should I suggest to the host?

9

Whatever you want.  The more outrageous the better!  Just have fun and don’t hold back.  Our puppeteers LOVE a good challenge.
